Bom shakalaka, bom

Just a tiny update from the frustrated lady in red. Oh my! I am seriously scared, worried, and desperate. I can't write!! Yikes! And also; yesterday I found out that I had totally overlooked one of the books in our syllabus. Yea! This was in addition a very vital book for the kind of exam question we got. So I rang around to bookstores “nearby”. I got lucky at last, and the nice man put it aside for me to collect today. I had to go all the way to Sandnes to buy it, which takes me about 35-40 minutes, depending on the traffic. Well, at least I didn’t have to go all the way to Stavanger. But instead the traffic was insane; a main road is blocked because of landslide. I did get the book eventually.

By the way; here this: Yesterday I went to the library to see if they had the missing book. The man had to call someone, and while he waited for them to call back I went to my favourite books. Found one that looked nice and started to flip through it. KA-BOOOOM it said in my stomach all of a sudden. Why? Oh only because there in that tiny yearbook thingy was a picture of the man himself. Yes Bob for crying out loud! He was so gorgeous I wanted to die! This was in 1991 and he was 36 at the time. Looked almost the same, and his tiny, yet insanely attractive smile, was there too. I was completely dumbfounded! Didn’t expect that at all. So I stared on that for a few minutes, as I was in shock over the dazzling man… When I woke up I quickly put it aside and found some other interesting book. It was on my favourite subject. Was this an innocent book or not? Yes, you guessed correctly, it wasn’t. He was fucking featured there as well. Jaysis! What’s up with that? He was only 30 there, and was holding up a book together with some other men. Sooo cute… I didn’t dare to look for more books there, and went to another part of the library. Must say this though; he has apparently always been totally hot, but I still find him the hottest now. Perhaps that is weird, don’t know. My only worry is that I apparently have to find some new preferred reading category, as he is in all the books I want to take out. As I didn’t know him earlier, I never singled him out before… Mum thought this was utterly funny… Bad mummy… *lol*

Well, Agnete my psychologist friend has helped me over the phone today. So tomorrow I am going to write the introduction and send it to her. She lives in Oslo, which is about 450 kilometres away, so this help has to go via mail and phone. Irene helped me via Msn and that helped too. Plus you great blogger friends too. I did print out what you wrote to me. Thanks, you are true darlings!

I am thrilled that the library visit screwed me up even more than I am. Is that actually possible? Let’s ponder…

Ok, this turned out to be a not so tiny update. Gee!

Going to Janne for pizza soon, so I will go and wish you a good evening.

*dreaming my life away*

Brains please! Any smart ones for sale?

I’ve been to school where our home exam was handed out, and now I am utterly stressed out. The question is something like this: Why is it important to be conscious about our views on humans. (I can’t find the exact English word for it in my dictionary, nor on the net, which annoys the heck out of me!!)I just feel like writing this for an answer; because it just is. Like the kind of answer you would give to a 3 year old when they ask you a gazillion questions each day. Or maybe this would suffice; if you are aware of your own views on other humans, it is easier to help them. Enough said, eh!?

I have never written something like this before, and I have to say; I am fucking freaking out! HEEEEEEEEEEEELP! I feel insanely stupid, like I have no brains what so ever. I don’t know anything! Have I read any books on the subject? Have I been to lectures and discussed this in the social work workings groups? Nooo, did I? Does not feel like it at this very moment. Perhaps I left an important part of my brain somewhere on the way back home today. Yes, it could have been on the train tracks, I probably lost it when entering the train. There you go! I better go back to Stavanger and retrieve it then…

There is something unusual going on with me today. I think that for the first time since 1988 I am in fact cold. Now there’s a word which isn’t a big part of my dictionary. I am in reality freezing cold. Like from the inside and out. My cheeks are red and roasting, while the rest of the body is icy. I have constant goose bumps because of it. So I use my chilly arms to cool down my cheeks. *lol* I even had to go and lie in bed for a while to try to get some heat up. Unfortunately that resulted in unwanted thoughts, so I had to get up again.
I want someone special to come and hold his arms around me, as I am very sure that would defrost both body and mind…

Now, on the other hand, I need some food. I am going to have some dinner, as it is almost 6.

If my mind stays hazardously useless for the rest of the evening, I might write something unwise and unintelligent later on as well. Don’t expect great things to come from my fingers today, unless you’re talking about something completely different.

Leaving you with one of my favourite paintings by the Norwegian Edvard Munch; Madonna. I could look at her face all day. Look at it! What is she feeling, sensing, experiencing, being? I know what I think, but what do you others think?

Never again

Oh dear God! Came across a video from RTÉ’s ”The Late Late show”. (It is an Irish show which started in 1962, and is still running.) I used to watch it while living in Ireland… Well in this particular video U2 is paying a tribute to The Dubliners, by singing a song called Springhill disaster. An amazing song and Bono signs it with passion and engagement.

I heard something today which stuck with me. It was these words; the truth can never be forgotten… I don’t know why this hit me, but it did. Of course he who spoke them was talking about the Holocaust. It isn’t difficult to put those words together with what happened back then, but for me they represented something personal too. They spoke to me; they got me by the core somehow. I wanted to cry. But then, that might have been because Elie Wiesel speaks in such a way that you can’t help but becoming involved and affected.

For as long as I can remember I have been totally preoccupied by the horrors of WW2. Sometimes I feel like an idiot for reading, talking and thinking so much about it. Does that make me a bit like a sensationalist? But now that we learn that more and more, ignorant if you ask me, people deny Holocaust, I know that my interest and obsession won’t be futile. Why? Because I can read, listen, learn and educate myself on the subject. Like that I can do my best to pass on the knowledge, the awareness, the “never again” legacy…

The terrors of the 1930’s and 40’s, are still just as important and relevant now. Genocides are still happening. More importantly is the fact that they are still happening with us, the people, watching it on the news, seeing children, women and men dead. We shake our heads in disbelief thinking; oh the leaders in those countries, aren’t they just corrupt bastards? We see the innocence of children being destroyed, forcing them to grow up in seconds. How can we let this happen today? Aren’t we enlightened? Aren’t we compassionate? Maybe not enough? Perhaps we can’t see the truth for what it really is, as that would kill us. Do we have a selection in our brains that “protect” us from going insane? Perhaps if we were to put all the problems in the world, on our shoulders; it would be too much? I don’t know. Never again – strong words, words that people believed to be true and good 61 years ago, but somehow their meaning got lost on the way. It is time to bring them forward again.

If you don’t get what I am talking about, go to Auschwitz, and experience the still truth, the silent screams of innocence, the despair, the insanity, and also the hopes, go to Sachenshausen, learn, read, and watch. You can also listen to survivors telling their stories in The Shoah Foundation’s video archive. (50 000 survivors have told their story) Then you’ll understand.

Yes, that was me today. I can’t help it. Somehow this has always felt important to me. Close to home, to my heart, yet I don’t know anyone, personally, who was affected by the war in any “bad” way. For you who haven’t read about my experience when visiting Auschwitz, and want to, go to September 12th.

Was at Eva’s, and we watched something on TV that had me think about this today. It was nice to visit her! We both found out that it is very good for me that I have totally stopped thinking about him… That he never pops into my head like ten billion times a day, plus in my dreams at night. (As if)

Forgot to say that Ciara, my au-pair kid, beeped me on Msn yesterday evening. We talked for 1, 5 hours. It was lovely to talk to her. She said she missed and loved me. Aawwh… Ciara studies fine art in Dún Laoghaire, in the south of Dublin.

I think this is more than enough for now.

For who is it, if not Monsoon, again!?

Met Vegar outside his work at 4, then we walked to the bar/pub ”Newsman”. Nice place. Just my kind of bar. Typical “brown” and dark one, not like those hip cool and trendy spots. The pubs in Ireland all kinda looked like this one… But one thing I noticed today; I was the only girl there, except from the girl behind the bar… weird.
Vegar and I had a great time. Laughed so much that Vegar’s cheek muscles started to hurt, according to him. I enjoyed myself so much! What I love about our friendship is that we can talk about anything, and not be embarrassed. We managed to circle our conversation towards sex. Shocking and totally unexpected!! We are experts on that, or I am at least… *lol*

Listening to The Who’s new album. I like it, though like with all fantabulous music; it takes some listening to… To really hear everything, notice all the important sequences, the special notes, yes, basically to really capture it… I have three favourites so far; “In the ether”, of course, “Mike post theme” and “Black widow eyes”. I love Pete’s banjo playing, it fits… I have seen him do the banjo on “In the Attic” before, and he just looks totally cute with that thing. Aaawwh… Gotta love him! I am in such awe towards him. He is eloquent, intelligent, and when he talks, on “In the Attic” for instance, I listen. Why? Because he speaks with passion and he talks of important things... His ways remind me of my “ex-history teacher”. They share that same capturing way of expressing themselves. At least I am totally sold the minute they both open their mouths… *lol* I love men who are like that, I really do.

Who’s your man? Nobody rocks like these guys, seriously.

Look how happy Roger looks on stage, and why wouldn’t he? Imagine to rock like this, and just totally own the stage and audience. Must be amazing, even after all these years.

Of course The Who reminds me of him... I guess it will forever, but what can I do? I can't stop listening to them, sooo...

I am going to Eva tomorrow, as she is bored way beyond belief these days. Thought I'd go and "entertain" her. *singing Let me entertain you*

B..

Monsoon :-)

I am off

I am off to Stavanger to go out with Vegar. I might write something when I come back.
I hope I will have a good time. I've even put on nice clothes, or at least a nice top. And make up, around the eyes. I think I look kinda nice, as nice as one can when looking like this.

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO MY BLOG!

I started this blog with a very silly entry about me not being able to post, or so I thought… After that my ramblings seem to never end… Hmmm…

I am too tired today to write anything sensible. Long day at school and after that coaching and today's session was the last one. It’s been useful! I have been given a challenge, and if I accept I will receive two free hours to me or someone else. I am going to give them to a friend who needs it.

See you!

VIKING!!!!!!

Yeeeeeeahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! Viking beat the holy delights out of Brann and won 5-0. Jaysis that was good! My heart is pounding like crazy here. And because of that, plus some more, they managed to stay in the “elite series” here in Norway. What a total humiliation for Brann which actually became number two in the series. *Jumping up and down in exalted happiness*. I am crying like a baby too… Woo hoo!!

Ok, sorry for you not Norwegian, but I just have to write a few lines from a Viking song now. This is a very important day. Ijeh scored 4 goals, bleedin amazing!

D e Viking, d e Viking så komme nå
Du kjenne vel di mørkeblå
D e Viking, d e Viking så storme frem
Å di ska bringa seieren hjem
Å øve heile byen hørres skriking på Viking
D e vel et festlig heiabrøl
Hei!
D e Viking, d e Viking
Di vinne viss di vil
Å sette adle kluter til

CONGRATULATIONS VIKING!!

I’ve been to my grandma’s Birthday celebration today. Fabulous food, as usual. Yum.
I always feel incredibly single at these things, as I am the only single person within ten miles. My cousin Agnete, who is 15, even had her boyfriend there. God! The singleness becomes very obvious on occasions like this, if you know what I mean. Well, what can you do really. I am single, and I am sure I will continue to be single for years to come. For crying out loud; first I have to get a certain someone out of my lovey dovey head, don’t I?! And then we can begin to look for possible and eligible partners…

I just want to thank you all for your lovely comments on my blog. I appreciate it so much, you have no idea!! I treasure each and every one of you.

School tomorrow, then I’m not going in before Thursday when the home exam is being dealt out. I am sure I will be Ok.

I promise I will have better things to write about tomorrow. Right now all I can think of is Viking.

Have a lovely Sunday you great folks out there in cyber space.

Hugs from me – Monsoon -

Hair

Hi! Nothing to say, as I am all darkened out. Don't want to write then... Just wanted to share this as I got my hair done today, at mum's. She's so good!

Also, Shira my cute but "psycho" cat. *lol* Her eyes are just so yellow... Cool.
